I Did It ~ Water Droplets Mid-Air

Bidet~Urinal~Water Fountain/Hand Pump

The more I look at this the funnier it gets....is it a bidet, urinal, or water fountain?  To me it looks like all three though the shape is a bit odd for the first two. Actually this is the old hand operated water spicket at Bear Town State Park in West Virginia. Trust me...I would not drink out of it for anything. The exciting thing about this shot for me is I FINALLY captured water droplets asthey were flying through the air. Wish they had great reflections in them
like so many of yours do, but this makes me happy. Right now I am having a problem with Blogger where it will not allow me to change the alignment to the of the script left instead of center. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks to y'all  for all the help you have been giving me while taking the eCourse. I really do appreciate your comments and helpful words of advice.

A Few Leaves Continue to Fall

Our maple tree drops some of the prettiest leaves. All the other trees are bare, but this one continues to share its color with us. Only one more week of class, and then I am on my own to learn how to use all the things I have been taught.

Another Beautiful Morning in Rockbridge County

Before Edits ~ SOOC
I thought it looked pretty cool in this original shot, but I wanted to see how it would look if I toned it down a bit. I was really amazed at the changes I was able to make.

After Edits in Lightroom and PSE
(could have been a good sunset for Halloween night)

The original shot appeared to me to be a good one to try fiddling with- blues, white, pink, sun on fire -  so my goal was to change it a bit. This sunrise took place Wednesday morning on my way to school. I have learned how to get the pictures into PSE after manipulating them, and I can work on them in PSE, but i am having one heck of a time getting them back into LR. Am gonna work on it again today and see if I can figure it out. You can tell I did something wrong because my watermark that usually appears in the lower far right corner is not here. UGH! If at one you don't succeed...try, try again.

This is my contribution to Skywatch Friday this week.

Some Signs from the Richmond Marathon 2012

Just the Beginning

Note the gloves...stuff was thrown everywhere. You name it, and it was there for the taking. There were big boxes along the way for people to throw in clothes they were discarding, but still there was stuff all along the road and on the grass.

Now, this is definitely my feeling...why would anyone go through such agony for so long a time? Unfortunately for Buddy, his pace was not a "run like Hell" one.

Mr. Cantor was born in Richmond and continues to live there.

This was definitely a unique one.

Why would you put a "Party Zone" station along the route....maybe at the finish, but not here.
I did not get this one.

Last but not least, an ABC Store sign. Buddy worked for them for 30 years and was the former manager of the stores here in Lexington, Covington, and Buena Vista. Since the day he walked out of there on Halloween Eve 4 years ago, he has not set foot in one anywhere.  He does not partake, and he NEVER wants to open the doors of an ABC store for the rest of his life! He is happy living on less, hiking, running, biking, and not having to endure the stress of managing a state controlled liquor store.

Lightroom to Photoshop and Back...Sometimes

Well, here it is...my first try at editing in Lightroom, taking the pictures into Photoshop Elements and doing some tweaking and texture work, and then back to Lightroom and publishing. All I can say is it has taken me hours and hours to start to figure this thing out...lots of wonderful video lessons to view over and over again, lots of note taking, lots of trial and error, and LOTS of eyestrain and quite a few headaches.  Oh, my goodness, is it hard...but so much fun. Three more lessons to go before the end of the class.

YEAH! Buddy Ran His First Marathon ~ 11-10-12

MARATHON BUD DID IT!!!
HE CROSSED THE FINISH LINE:-)

It was so festive. As he ran under the finish point, the man on the loudspeaker roared..."And here we have Buddy Johnson, age 60, from Lexington, VA." It was so cool. There were quite a few after him, but he managed to make it in under the seven hours. WOOHOO!!!!!!!! Saturday he is going to run the Roanoke Half Marathon. I guess he has that incurable
"Runner for Life" disease.

Time for contemplation before leaving for the race.

Eloise and Sage made a sign,
and they each had blue cow bells to ring.

Buddy stopped long enough for a photo-op with the girls.

Gene waiting for Bud to round the last curve.

Almost there.

WOOHOO...He did it!
